New avenues in information and data science: advanced imaging applications at the XFEL and cryo-EM frontier

Deutsches Elektronen-Synchrotron DESY

Russian partner:

Kurchatov Institute

In the frame of this Project we are planning to provide analysis of the data flow that is obtained on the facilities providing the structure of the single nanosize particles in a quasi-real time. The analysis of the data flow will be provided by the high performance data processing platform, which will be developed in the frame of this Project. The main experimental facility for which the computing platform will be developed is the European XFEL. The platform will be adapted and applied as weil for the analysis of data from the cryogenic electron microscopy (cryo-EM). State of the art machine learning algorithms and artificial intelligence methods will be used. The main advantage of this platform will be the complete processing pipeline from the experiment to the reconstructed 30 structure. When implemented, this platform will allow to determine structure of the single particles in interactive regime.
